In this photo are two girls. One is Rhoda Sabatchi and the other is Abigail Evans. There is also one hand, my hand, holding two smarties. Rhoda and Abigail are standing next to each other and the smarties are covering their heads. The theme for this assignment was to cut off someone's head and replace it with an object, without the aid of photoshop. Shooting this photo was challenging because I needed to shoot the photo while simultaneously keeping my hand still in front of the camera. Maneuvering the camera and the hand to effectively cover the girls' heads with the two smarties was slightly difficult. I chose to shoot smarties to keep up with my theme of food. I also drew smiles on the smarties and told the girls to stand right next to each other to add warmth to the photo. I believe this photo is successful.

Missing Fruit
This is a photo of the peels of two oranges and one banana. They are set up to slightly imitate unpeeled fruit. The theme for this assignment was abhorrence which basically means: to branch off from something obvious. Since my study in photography, my senior exhibition, is focused on food, specifically desserts, I decided to use food for this assignment. In my mind, I believe people expect to see photos of whole foods. I.e. unpeeled fruits. So to diverge from this universal concept I chose to take photos of just the peels, but set them up in a way that they would emulate unpeeled fruits. I believe this photo is successful.
Pretty Birdie
This is a photo of a young girl named Christina gazing upwards at a pretty little birdie. It was a cold windy day that day so she decided to wear a nice warm parka jacket. She went on a walk and stumbled upon this beautiful bird perched upon a railing. Her eyes widened at the bird's beautiful feathers and a smile lit up on her face. She couldn't believe what she was seeing. At the same time, the bird stared at the humanoid form standing beneath him wondering why on earth she was staring at her with such big brown eyes. The purpose of this assignment was to broaden our perspective of things by shooting in an animal's p.o.v. This photo was taken on a sort of hilltop. I was standing on the tips of my toes behind a railing and Christina was standing a few feet down the hill to maximize the height and distance. This replicated the distance between ground level and a branch on a tree. This picture is successful.
